About the Sioux City Farmers Market
The Sioux City Farmers Market exists to strengthen connections between people, local food, small businesses, and community throughout Siouxland. What began as a simple way to create greater access to local growers and producers has grown into one of Siouxland’s largest and most recognized community gathering spaces and regional destinations.
Each week during market season, thousands of visitors come downtown to shop directly from the people who grow, raise, bake, create, and produce what they sell. From fresh-picked produce to baked goods, flowers, handcrafted items, prepared foods, coffee, live music, and small-batch products, the Sioux City Farmers Market reflects the creativity, entrepreneurship, and agricultural roots of the Siouxland region.
Everything sold at the Sioux City Farmers Market is grown, raised, baked, prepared, or handcrafted by the vendor. That direct connection creates transparency, trust, and a more personal experience for visitors while helping support local families, farms, makers, and small businesses.
The impact of the Sioux City Farmers Market extends well beyond individual vendor booths. Purchases made at the Sioux City Farmers Market help keep more dollars circulating within the local economy. Vendors also contribute to the community by supporting local restaurants, coffee shops, fuel stations, hotels, supply stores, and other downtown businesses throughout the market season. The Sioux City Farmers Market also creates opportunities for collaboration between vendors and local businesses, leading to partnerships, product collaborations, and long-term business relationships throughout Siouxland.
The Sioux City Farmers Market is operated by Buy Fresh Buy Local - Siouxland, Inc., a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting local food systems, small businesses, agriculture, and community development. The organization is guided by a volunteer board composed of vendors, community members, patrons, and advocates who strongly believe in the importance of local agriculture, entrepreneurship, and downtown vibrancy.
The Sioux City Farmers Market is also made possible by sponsors, volunteers, community partners, and organizations that help create a welcoming and accessible experience for vendors and visitors alike.
